Roebuck, Rattlers produce clean sheet over Greyhounds

SAN ANTONIO — Gerard Roebuck anchored the Rattler defense on Thursday night, leading St. Mary's to a 2-0 victory over Eastern New Mexico at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
 
The Rattlers (5-1-2, 3-1-1) outshot the Greyhounds 16-7, withstanding a strong push in the second half.
 
Facing four shots in the second half, Roebuck turned back each one as the Aussie produced five saves.
 
Nenad Markovic found the back of the net for the fifth time this season, with Ollie Wright and Pato Botello Faz collecting the assists, to put the Rattlers up in the 19th minute.
 
With the match still hanging in the balance, Aidan Henry deposited his first goal of the season when he connected on a cross from Botello in the 82nd minute to ice the game for the Rattlers.
 
St. Mary's will return to the pitch on Saturday to host West Texas A&M at 1 p.m.
