Rattlers, Hillcats play to scoreless draw

SAN ANTONIO — Three weeks into the season, St. Mary's Women's Soccer finally made its much-anticipated home debut on Thursday night, earning a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Rogers State.
 
The Rattlers improve to 1-2-2 on the season as the Hillcats (5-1-1) finished with their first draw of the season.
 
In an evenly played match, both teams were held scoreless with each goalkeeper logging a clean sheet. 
 
Cameron Koerner recorded six saves in her first home match as a Rattler as she and the Rattler defense faced 16 shots.
 
As a team, the Rattlers placed seven of their 13 shots on goal. Alexia Maldonado posted three of her six attempts on frame while Gabby Olsen and Victoria Villasenor each tallied two shots on goal.
 
On Saturday, the Rattlers will host Newman at 1 p.m. at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
