#13 Rattlers dominant in conference opener

SAN ANTONIO — One week following a draw in the home opener, St. Mary's Men's Soccer emerged with renewed energy, defeating DBU in the Heartland Conference opener, 5-0.
 
Nenad Markovic struck for goal twice while Pato Botello Faz connected with a goal of his own and a pair of assists.
 
Botello increased his streak to four matches with a goal, pushing his total to five on the season.
 
Luis Sanchez and Ollie Wright each added a goal of their own as the Rattlers improved to 3-0-1 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play.
 
Gerard Roebuck, Jacob Sayle and the Rattler defense combined for the clean sheet holding DBU to three shots, one of which was on frame.
 
On Saturday, the Rattlers will take on St. Edward's in a much-anticipated Battle of the Saints.
