Women's Tennis caps weekend with strong showing

The Lady Rattlers got off to a hot start this weekend when they took on #16 Northwestern State at home. 
Intense game play started in doubles as the Rattlers fought game for game against the RiverHawks. 
In Doubles, 
1. Kaylin Kruseman/Tyra Timm (STMU) def. 15 Tatjana Stoll/Molly Worden (NSU) 8-6 
2. Paulina Torres/Rani Goodland (STMU) def. Mayra Jovic/Karla Tomaic (NSU) 9-7 
3. Alex Corder/Ally Maciel (STMU) def. Easton Parker/Chantal Nosievici (NSU) 8-2 

Doubles set the tone for the Lady Rattlers as No.1 Kruseman, Timm and No.2 Torres, 
Goodland gave the crowd a show with both teams holding their own and not backing down 
until the last point was played and they came out on top. 

Three set matches were the theme of the day as the Rattlers battled to the end against Northwestern. 
In singles; 
1. Kaylin Kruseman (STMU) def. Tatjana Stoll (NSU) 4-6, 7-5, 10-8 
2. Molly Worden (NSU) def. Tyra Timm (STMU) 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 
3. Mayra Jovic (NSU) def. Ally Maciel (STMU) 6-2, 6-2 
4. Betka Gombarova (NSU) def. Rani Goodland (STMU) 7-5, 4-6, 10-8 
5. Alex Corder (STMU) def. Chantal Nosievici (NSU) 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 
6. Isabelle Bergman (STMU) def. Karla Tomaic (NSU) 6-4, 6-1 

Kaylin Kruseman fought an epic three set battle after losing the first set 4-6 she clawed her way to victory overcoming Stoll in the second set 7-5, and keeping the momentum going was able to prevail 10-8 in the third set tie break. 

"I have to give a lot of credit to my teammates and the guys for watching and cheering my match on," Kruseman said after her match. "It was definitely a nail bitter, but those are the best ones." 

Alex Corder and Isabelle Bergman both had great wins. Corder found her stride in the second set and bought it home with a 2-6, 6-2, 6-0 win. Bergman had solid force throughout her match for a 6-4, 6-1 win. 
On Saturday the Rattlers were back on form taking out Trinity 8-0.

(TU) 8-0 

In Singles; 
1. Kaylin Kruseman (STMU) def. Caroline Kutach (TU) 7-5, 6-4 
2. Tyra Timm (STMU) def. Zoe Kaffen (TU) 6-3, 6-1 
3. Ally Maciel (STMU) def. Andrea De Leon (TU) 6-1, 6-4 
4. Rani Goodland (STMU) def. Mary Kaffen (TU) 6-0, 6-1 
5. Alex Corder (STMU) def. Ashley DeBauge (TU) 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 
6. Paulina Garcia (TU) vs. Isabelle Bergman (STMU) 3-6, 3-4, unfinished 

Alex Corder with her second three set match win of the weekend under her belt. Found her stride in the second set after dropping the first 2-6, won the second 6-3, and overcame DeBauge 10-8 in the third set tie break.
