Softball falls in extras to #8 Colorado Mesa

RIO RANCHO, New Mexico — In a battle between two national-ranked teams, No. 22 St. Marys' fell to No. 8 Colorado Mesa 4-3 on Sunday afternoon.
 
Midway through the 4th inning, with the Rattlers trailing 3-0, a two-RBI single by Taylor Germain brought the Rattlers to within a run.
 
The following inning, Raynelle Nash would deliver an RBI single down the left field line, scoring Hannah Michel.
 
Eight Rattlers produced a hit in the ballgame with Brenda Iparraguirre and Alex Moreno logging extra-base hits.
 
St. Mary's now gets set to host the NCAA Division II College Classic beginning on Thursday at 6 p.m. when it hosts Regis.
