Weekend sweep over Texans has Rattlers back at .500

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's completed a three-game sweep of the Tarleton State Texans on Saturday with a pair of wins.
 
Game 1 saw the Rattlers top the Texans 6-0, with Zach De La Garza tossing a complete game, three-hit, eight strikeout performance.
 
Offensively, Jacob Aguilar carried the load with a 3-of-3 outing at the plate that included a three-RBI double in the sixth inning.
 
In the nightcap, St. Mary's rallied from an early deficit with a number of timely hits. Of the eight Rattlers to record a base hit, four notched multiple hits.
 
Andrew Perez, Angel Vega, Mario Vela and Oscar Betancourt notched two hits apiece as Betancourt's two-RBI single in the fifth helped secure the lead.
 
The winning pitcher was Cole Hybner who tossed 3.2 innings in the victory as Branson Hall notched his first save of the season.
 
On Feb. 16, the Rattlers will host Our Lady of the Lake in the first of a three-game series.
