Rattlers start weekend with straight-set win over Jets

WICHITA, Kansas — St. Mary's Volleyball began the weekend with a 3-0 victory over Newman on Thursday night.
 
Leading the charge for the Rattlers was Alissa Tolbert who posted a match-high 11 kills. She would also add a service ace and an assist to her stat line.
 
Rachel McDonald was a force at the net, recording three blocks while Jaycie Pluenneke and Mackenzie Harless added two apiece.
 
The setting tandem of Haley Bradfute and Bree Perry paced the Rattler offense, combining for 32 assists.
 
St. Mary's improves to 2-1 in conference play, picking up its eighth win of the season as they now set their sights on a meeting with UAFS in a rematch of last season's Heartland Conference Championship.
