Women's Soccer stunned in OT

By Brian Magloyoan | St. Mary's Athletics Communcations

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's fell to Texas A&M International 3-2 in overtime on Thursday night at Sigma Beta Chi Field.

In front of a capacity crowd, the evening began with the senior class being recognized for their contributions to the program.

One of those seniors, Paige Meyer, delivered the first goal of the match – and her career – in the 12th minute.

A Dustdevil goal in the 27th minute off a corner kick equalized the match entering halftime.

Much like how the match began, the Rattlers would strike first in the second half off a goal from Victoria Villasenior in the 59th minute.

The one-goal edge wouldn't be enough as the Dustdevils struck with another equalizer in the late stages of the match.

Then, just over three minutes into the first overtime period, a goal from 15 yards out by Vanessa Ruiz gave the Rattlers their second overtime loss this season.

Saturday, the Rattlers will close out the season against St. Edward's at 1 p.m.
