SAN ANTONIO — Goals from Martin Ibarreche and Pato Botello Faz were the differences in the 2-1 Rattler victory over Lubbock Christian on Saturday.

After a scoreless first half, Ibarreche connected on his first goal of the season, on an assist from Carlos Blasco, in the 47th minute. Botello would add to the Rattler lead in the 81st minute with his 14th goal of the season on a penalty kick.

The goal marks a new career-high for a single season for Botello who produced 13 goals a season ago.

St. Mary's moves to 9-3-3 overall and to 7-3-2 in conference play. Entering the final homestand of the season, the Rattlers currently sit in second behind St. Edward's in the South Division with both teams holding a 4-1 record in division play and the Hilltoppers holding the tie-breaker on the Rattlers.

Thursday's match against Texas A&M International carries plenty of postseason implications as the Rattlers are still in contention for a first-round bye.

On Thursday, the Rattlers will host the Dustdevils at 7 p.m. in a special White-Out match.
