Longford’s clean sheet leads Rattlers to victory

SAN ANTONIO — Women's Soccer continued its most impressive run of the season with a 1-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian on Thursday.
 
Spearheaded by goalkeeper Erin Longford's clean sheet that saw six saves, the Rattlers completed the season sweep of the Lady Eagles.
 
The difference in the match was a goal in the 31st minute from Alexia Maldonado who found the back of the net for the sixth time this season.
 
Despite only scoring once in the first half, the Rattlers dominated most of the second half, holding the Eagles to only two shots, one of which was on frame.
 
Morgan Cave, Victoria Villasenor and Leah Whittaker were the only other Rattlers to register a shot on goal. Whittaker came close to netting one in the first half only to have the ball ricochet off the inside of the left post and out after OC keeper Addison Milner deflected the shot attempt.
 
On Saturday, the Rattlers will host Lubbock Christian at 1 p.m.
