Golden again: Rattlers defeat Patriots in OT

DALLAS — For the third time this season, Pato Botello Faz found the back of the net twice in the same match. This time it was against DBU as the Rattlers defeated the Patriots 2-1 in overtime.
 
The senior began the match with a goal in the 16th minute on an assist from Nenad Markovic. Carrying a 1-0 lead into halftime, it was the Patriots that responded 12 minutes into the second half with an equalizer from Ethan Martinez.
 
Outshooting the Patriots 11-10 in the match, the Rattlers pressed the issue in the overtime period. Once again, the connection of Markovic to Botello proved too much for DBU as the Rattlers picked up their second overtime victory in three matches.
 
Four saves from Jacob Sayle anchored the Rattler defense as St. Mary's moves to 7-2-3 overall and 5-2-2 in conference.
 
Saturday, the Rattlers will travel to St. Edward's in another highly anticipated meeting.
