Rattlers' strong start spoiled by St. Edward's

SAN ANTONIO — Petar Radojicic had his third 20-point outing of the season, but it wasn't enough for St. Mary's Men's Basketball as the Rattlers dropped a televised contest against rival St. Edward's, 85-77.     
 
Juwan Green added 19 points in defeat Wednesday at Bill Greehey Arena, as the Hilltoppers broke open a 74-74 tie with 2:15 left with an 11-3 run to close the game.
 
St. Mary's (7-12, 3-5) led by as many as 11 points in the game, but couldn't overcome St. Edward's sharp shooting — particularly in the second half. St. Edward's shot 44.3 percent from the floor, including 8 of 20 (40 percent) from 3-point range.
 
Freddie Williams scored 12 points off the bench for the Rattlers, hitting five of his seven attempts.
 
St. Mary's will be back in action on Saturday, hosting DBU at 3 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.
