Ajel shines in rain-soaked Halo Cup victory

SAN ANTONIO — Steady rain throughout the evening could not slow down the Rattlers as they defeated Our Lady of the Lake 2-0 to claim this year's Halo Cup.
 
Off the bench, Jazz Ajel made her presence felt, recording her first career goal and assist.
 
The freshman began the afternoon with an assist to Alexia Maldonado who scored her first goal of the season in the 39th minute.
 
With less than three minutes in the match, Ajel would put the game away with a goal following a scramble in the front of the net. Her goal was set up by Miranda Narvaez who was able to get past the defense before creating the scoring opportunity.
 
With the win, St. Mary's improves to 6-3 on the season. Thursday, the Rattlers will visit St. Edward's in a Battle of the Saints.
