KINGSVILLE, Texas — A seven-game road trip came to an end for the St. Mary's Rattlers Tuesday night with a pair of victories over the Texas A&M-Kingsville Javelinas.

St. Mary's took the doubleheader with a 3-1 victory in Game 1 followed by a 5-3 win in Game 2.

The No. 3 Rattlers struck for three runs in the top of the first inning, which was capped with a two-RBI triple from recently named Heartland Conference Hitter of the Week, Brenda Iparraguirre.

Raynelle Nash went 2-for-4 at the plate with a run scored while Alena Moreno finished 1-for-1 with a run scored as she collected a trio of walks.

Jorden Russell notched her 14th win of the season after tossing a complete game, allowing only one run and striking out three.

In the nightcap, the Rattlers began the scoring in the top of the third with two runs off a Nash RBI single to right field and a sacrifice fly from Marcela Vasquez.

Vasquez would tally the final runs of the game for the Rattlers with a 2-run home run to left field in the fifth inning.

Moreno, Nash and Miranda Medina would each record a pair of hits in the game as Ashley Mills was credited with her seventh victory of the season as she allowed only one earned run.

The Rattlers will return home to resume conference play on Friday when they host Newman.
