#12 Rattlers outlast weather, TAMUK in regular-season finale

KINGSVILLE, Texas — St. Mary's Women's Tennis struck out Texas A&M-Kingsville on Monday, winning its regular-season finale 5-1.

No. 3 Camille Clausse-Pujo and Mariela Sarinana led the way for the Lady Rattlers in doubles, finding their stride to win 8-2. No. 1 Kaylin Kruseman and Tyra Timm were also determined to overcome the Javelinas, winning 8-4.

With a 2-1 lead into singles, the 12th-ranked Lady Rattlers (16-2) still had a lot of work to do. Unable to stop Mother Nature, the rain came falling, interrupting singles play. But this did not faze the Lady Rattlers, as play stopped and started with the Lady Rattlers determined to get the job done.

No. 4 Timm stole the first singles win of the day, winning 6-1, 6-1. Coming up right behind her was No. 1 Clausse-Pujo, who cruised to a steady win 6-1, 6-1. No. 2 Kruseman clinched the match for the Lady Rattlers immediately after No. 1 Clausse-Pujo, coming through 6-1, 6-3.

The Lady Rattlers Will be back in action at 11 a.m. Friday in Dallas vs. No. 4 seed UAFS in opening round of the Heartland Conference Championships.
