LAREDO, Texas — With Thursday's doubleheader sweep of the Texas A&M International Dustdevils the St. Mary's Rattlers returned to the top of the Heartland Conference standings.

After a disappointing loss in the series opener, the Rattlers reminded everyone of just who they are with a pair of convincing, 11-2 and 9-1, victories over the Dustdevils.

In Game 1, the Rattlers struck early courtesy of a two-RBI double from Raynelle Nash in the top of the first inning.

The Rattlers would add to their run totals an inning later before blowing the game wide open with an eight-run seventh inning.

Nash left her mark on the ballgame by falling a triple shy of the cycle as she went 4-for-5 with four-RBI off a pair of doubles, a single and a solo home run.

Olivia Van Hook would go 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI and a run scored as Alena Moreno would finish with a pair of hits in addition to an RBI and a run scored.

Hope Russell collected her seventh win of the season after allowing only two runs on four hits in 4.1 innings.

The nightcap saw the Rattlers continue the offensive onslaught as they defeated TAMIU in six innings by a final of 9-1. Once again, Nash was a difference maker at the plate as she posted an RBI double in the sixth after launching two-run homer in the fifth.

Brenda Iparraguirre would also homer in the ballgame as lifted one over the fence in the fourth inning.

St. Mary's got on the board in the ballgame courtesy of a home run off the bat Hannah Michel in the first inning.
