Snakes bitten by 6 errors in loss to OLLU

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Baseball erased one four-run deficit Tuesday evening against Our Lady of the Lake, but they couldn't undo that deficit a second time. 

The Rattlers fell to the Saints 10-6 at Dickson Stadium, spoiling Donnie Perez's 3-for-4, 2-RBI outing during Homecoming Week. 

Down 5-0 early and trailing 5-1 after two innings, St. Mary's (12-15) overcame the early hole when Perez launched a solo shot to left field in the fourth inning to even the score at 6-6. St. Mary's had rallied for four runs in the bottom of the third, bringing them to within one, 6-5, prior to Perez's home-run swing. 

But things got away from the Rattlers in the eighth, as the Saints capitalized on two of the Snakes' six errors to retake the lead for good at 10-6. 

Jonathan Ramirez had two RBI in the game for St. Mary's, while Bryce Brandl registered a pair of hits. The Rattler pitching staff combined for 10 strikeouts in the game. 

St. Mary's will hit the road for a single game against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday in Kingsville, Texas.
