#12 Rattlers overcome early deficit to take down Tarleton State

SAN ANTONIO — The Lady Rattlers fought to the finish to overcome Tarelton State University on Saturday morning. 

St. Mary's, ranked 12th in the nation, got off to a tough start, dropping lines No. 1 and No. 3 doubles. No. 2 tandem Ally Maciel and Hannah Petersen held their own, however, seizing the first point for a much-needed 8-3 victory. 

The Lady Rattlers faced the challenge to find their way back on top after entering singles down 2-1. They rallied together to fire up for singles, as No.1 Camille Clausse-Pujo secured the first singles win, dominating 6-2, 6-1.

No. 3 Maciel and No. 2 Kaylin Kruseman following in Clausse-Pujo's stride, winning their lines 6-2, 6-3 and 6-3, 6-3. 

With a big comeback from the Lady Rattlers, the match was not theirs yet with No. 6 Sindhu Ravula, No. 5 Mariela Sarinana and No. 4 Tyra Timm riding out three-set matches still battling to clinch. 

It was No. 6 Ravula who fought her way back from a set down to rise up and clinch for the Lady Rattlers, finding her stride and winning 5-7, 6-3, 6-0. 

Sarinana was right behind her in a gripping three-set battle, winning 6-4, 2-6, 6-4. 

Catch the Lady Rattlers at Rohrbach Stadium next Friday at 9 a.m. as they face Dallas Baptist University.
