#6 Rattlers push win streak to seven with victory over Hillcats

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Softball remains perfect at home this season following a 4-0 shutout win over the Rogers State Hillcats Saturday afternoon.
 
Led by Jorden Russell, who pitched her second complete victory of the series, the No. 6 Rattlers improved to 25-6 and 5-1 in conference. Russell produced her second complete game victory of the series, striking out four in the process while keeping the Hillcats without a hit through the first five innings.
 
The top of the Rattler lineup accounted for all four runs as Hannah Michel, Alena Moreno, Raynelle Nash and Marcela Vasquez each registered an RBI.
 
Brenda Iparraguirre connected on the team's lone extra-base hit of the afternoon with a double in the fourth while Olivia Van Hook and Alessandra Ortiz each scored a hit and a run.
 
Ending the longest homestand of the season with this win, the Rattlers improve to 11-0 at The Park at St. Mary's. Up next will be a non conference meeting on the road against Texas Woman's on March 29 that starts a seven-game roadtrip for the Gold and Blue.
