Women's Tennis snaps #14 Drury's 12-match win streak

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Women's Tennis ended Drury's 12-match winning streak, clinching an 8-1 victory at Rohrbach Stadium.

The 12th-ranked Lady Rattlers came out swinging with the 3-0 doubles sweep over the 14th-ranked Panthers. No. 1 tandem Kaylin Kruseman and Tyra Timm won 8-6, while No. 2 Hannah Peterson and Ally Maciel also won 8-6. No. 3 Camille Clausse-Pujo and Mariela Sarinana won 8-3. 

The singles battle began with Kruseman leading the way for the Lady Rattlers, winning 6-2, 6-3 at No. 2. Timm followed with the clinching victory, winning 6-4, 7-5.

Sarinana, Clausse-Pujo and Maciel were left to dig deep in their three-set matches. Maciel prevailed, winning 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. Sarinana fought hard to overcome her opponent, winning 6-4, 3-6, 6-4. 

Clausse-Pujo found her stride winning 7-6 (2), 3-6, 6-3, closing out the day for the Lady Rattlers. 

Come out and support the Lady Rattlers as they take on Tarleton State University at Rohrbach Stadium at 9 a.m. Saturday.
