By Georgie Gosen | St. Mary's Athletics Communications

ST. LEO, Florida — The Lady Rattlers avenged last year's 8-1 loss to Saint Leo with a 7-2 victory over the nation's fourth-ranked team this time around.

St. Mary's, ranked No. 9 nationally, came out fierce in doubles starting with No. 3 Sindhu Ravula and Camille Clausse-Pujo winning 8-0 on Thursday. Shortly after, No.1 Kaylin Kruseman and Tyra Timm and No. 2 Ally Maciel and Mariela Sarinana both won 8-6, giving the Lady Rattlers the clean doubles sweep.

No. 3 Maciel led the Lady Rattlers in singles, winning 6-3, 6-3, followed by Timm's 6-2, 6-3 victory that clinched the match.

The Lady Rattlers were still hungry for more with No. 2 Kruseman and No. 6 Ravula left to fight it out.

Kruseman won 6-4, 4-6, 10-1 leading the way for Ravula to wrap up the day winning 6-1, 6-2.

The Lady Rattlers will be back in business Saturday to take on Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida.
