SAN ANTONIO — On a day affiliated with finding a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the St. Mary's Rattlers found a pair of victories on St. Patrick's Day over Oklahoma Christian on Friday afternoon at Dickson Stadium.

The Rattlers would take Game 1 by a final of 3-1 before coming from behind in Game 2, winning 4-3.

Quality starts from the pitching tandem of Holden Grounds and Chris Jones along with a pair of multi-hit games from Jacob Aguilar propelled the Rattlers to a 5-0 start in conference play.

Grounds received the start in Game 1 where he allowed only one run on three hits while striking out six in a complete game effort.

Aguilar finished the game going 2-for-3 at the plate as Beau Barnes posted a pair of hits in each of his two at-bats.

An RBI double from Jacob Arevalo began the scoring for the Rattlers in the second inning before they would strike for two more runs in the fifth.

Game 2 featured Jones tossing eight complete innings while allowing only one earned run en route to his second victory of the season. In the ninth, he would make way for Trent Rousseau who struck out two for his fourth save of the year.

Trailing by two entering the sixth inning, the Rattlers managed to strike for three unanswered runs over the next two innings, highlighted by RBI singles from James Gillean and Aguilar in the seventh.

Tomorrow, the Rattlers and Eagles will wrap-up their three-game series at 1 p.m.
