#22 Academy of Art hands #9 Women's Tennis 1st loss

SOUTHLAKE, Texas — No. 22 Academy of Art dealt No. 9 St. Mary's Women's Tennis its first loss of the season in an 8-1 defeat on Sunday.  

The action wrapped up a three-match weekend where the Rattlers faced off against a trio of top-25 teams, going 2-1 in the process. 

Kaylin Kruseman and Tyra Timm teamed up for the Rattlers' lone point in the match, taking down Academy of Art's No. 5-ranked duo in No. 1 singles, 9-8 (7-3). 

Kruseman nearly walked away 2-0 on the day, but dropped a hard-fought three-setter in No. 2 singles, 5-7, 6-2, 1-0. 

The Snakes will be back on the court Saturday, March 4, when they host Southeastern Oklahoma State at 10 a.m. at Rohrbach Stadium.
