Rattlers fall to #4 Angelo State in high-scoring affair

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's fell 18-6 to No. 4 ranked Angelo State on Wednesday night at Dickson Stadium.
 
In the first, the Rattlers jumped to an early 2-0 lead courtesy of an opposite field, two-run homer from Jack Kaiser.
 
The following inning saw Kaiser add to the lead with a two-RBI single that scored Bryan Ramirez and Scott Short. With the Rattlers taking a 4-1 lead to the third, the Rams would respond with a five-run third inning as they would string together 10 unanswered runs over the next three.
 
Kaiser would finish 2-for-5 with four-RBI and a home run as Zach Johnson added a pair of singles of his own.
 
The Rattlers would add two runs in the sixth off a two-RBI single up the middle from Bryce Brandl.
 
Up next for the Rattlers will be a three-game series against the University of Mary at home beginning with a doubleheader on Feb. 25 at 1 p.m.
