By Chad Peters | St. Mary's Athletics Communications

LAREDO, Texas — Kiara Etheridge became the Heartland Conference's all-time leading rebounder, four Rattlers scored in double figures and St. Mary's Women's Basketball rolled by 40 points in an 86-46 rout of Texas A&M International on Saturday.

Etheridge's eight rebounds moved her into the No. 1 slot all-time in the Heartland's annals with 975 career boards. Etheridge added 12 points on the day, while teammate Arysia Porter led the squad with 15 points. Ciaira Briseno added 11 points off the bench, while Kealani Marquez also hit double figures with 10 points.

St. Mary's (19-5, 11-3) led from start to finish, opening up a 19-10 lead after the first quarter. But it was a 20-2 second quarter that effectively put the game away for the Rattlers, who carried a 39-12 lead into the half.

St. Mary's shot 44.6 percent from the floor for the game, including 35.5 percent from 3-point range, where the Rattlers drained 11 of 31 attempts. Defensively, they limited the Dustdevils to just 27 percent shooting for the game and a 7-for-32 clip from long range.

Sierra Dixon scored nine points off the bench for the Snakes, going 3 for 7 from 3-point range. Tia Mason added eight points and eight boards in 21 minutes.

St. Mary's will return to action Thursday, when it travels to Wichita, Kansas, to take on Newman. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. from Fugate Gymnasium.
