#10 Women's Tennis shuts down cross-town Trinity

SAN ANTONIO — No. 10 St. Mary's Women's Tennis continued its perfect start to the young season Saturday, blanking cross-town Trinity University 9-0 at Rohrbach Stadium. 

The Rattlers (4-0) got the day going with a clean sweep of doubles play, starting with Kaylin Kruseman and Tyra Timm taking the No. 1 match 8-5. Camille Clausse-Pujo and Mariela Sarinana followed suit, winning 8-5, as did Ally Maciel/Sindhu Ravula at No. 3, also by the score of 8-5. 

Clausse-Pujo carried over her success to singles, where she won a three-set thriller at No. 1, taking down Liz Southwick 6-7 (5-7), 6-1, 10-6. 

The Rattlers barely broke a sweat in the other matchups, as Kaylin Kruseman prevailed 6-1, 6-2 at No. 2; Tyra Timm won No. 3, 6-3, 6-1; and Ally Maciel took the No. 4 pairing, 6-4, 6-0. In addition, Mariela Sarinana won at No. 5, 6-1, 6-2, while Sindhi Ravula won No. 6, 6-2, 6-4. 

The Rattlers will return to action Friday, when they travel to take on Cameron in Dallas at 1 p.m.
