Rattlers outlasted in Thanksgiving Classic opener

SAN ANTONIO — Day 1 of the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic ended with host St. Mary's falling to Midwestern State 62-47.
 
Leading by five at the half, the Rattlers looked to be in control following a pair of three-pointers by Alexia Torres and Arysia Porter closed out the half.
 
Porter would score 11 of her game-high 18 points in the first half while dishing out eight assists and grabbing five rebounds. Kealani Marquez and Hannah Wilson each poured in seven points as Marquez would also add four assists and four rebounds as Wilson collected eight boards.
 
Tomorrow evening, the Rattlers will wrap-up the Thanksgiving Classic against the No. 1 team in the nation, the Ashland Eagles, at 5 p.m. inside Bill Greehey Arena.
