Southwestern snaps Volleyball's win streak at 7

GEORGETOWN, Texas — St. Mary's Volleyball dropped a hard-fought tune-up match against Southwestern on Saturday.

Southwestern, ranked No. 3 in the nation in NCAA Division III, edged the Rattlers 5-2, winning 25-16, 19-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-13.

The match served as the Rattlers' (15-10) final tune-up before next week's pivotal match against Heartland Conference-leading UAFS, which could decide the regular-season champion. The match is set for 7 p.m. Thursday at the Paul Taylor Field House in San Antonio.

Against Southwestern, Channing Hankins led the way with 21 kills, followed by 15 from Tarine Grace. Bree Perry had a match-leading 50 assists, while Monica Ramon's 31 digs paced the team.
