Markovic’s early strike not enough as Rattlers fall to Chaps

LUBBOCK, Texas — A hat-trick was the difference in the match between St. Mary's and Lubbock Christian on Saturday as the Rattlers fell 4-1 against the Chaps.
 
An early goal from Nenad Markovic, less than 10 minutes into the match would be the only score of the afternoon for the Rattlers as they would concede four unanswered goals, including a hat-trick to LCU's Corey Hutchison.
 
Markovic's goal was his seventh of the season as Luis Sanchez collected the assist. The loss moves the Rattlers to 7-6-1 overall and 5-5-0 in conference play.
 
St. Mary's will look to the final homestand of the season to make a case for the postseason, beginning on Thursday when it hosts Newman at 5 p.m.
