Etheridge, @StMUWBB hold off Eagles for Martens’ 199th win

OKLAHOMA CITY — Two days after dropping its first conference game of the season, the St. Mary's Rattlers bounced back with a 84-73 victory over Oklahoma Christian on Saturday afternoon.
 
St. Mary's (12-3, 4-1) survived an OC rally early in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Eagles 25-14 in the final seven minutes of the game.
 
Senior Kiara Etheridge posted impressive numbers as she recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 18 points and 16 rebounds to go along with six assists and three steals.
 
Fellow senior LaBraile Fields poured a team-high 19 points on 4-of-5 shooting from behind the arc in addition to four rebounds and three assists. Arysia Porter added 16 points and seven rebounds while Tyra Cormier posted 12 points and three rebounds.
 
The victory gives Rattler head coach Jason Martens 199 for his career, dating back to the 2006-07 season, his first with the Rattlers.
 
Martens and the Rattlers will look for win No. 200 when they return home to face Texas A&M International on Jan. 14 at 1 p.m.
