By Chad Peters | St. Mary's Athletics Communications

SAN ANTONIO — The countdown to Jason Martens' 200th career victory at St. Mary's began early Saturday afternoon at Bill Greehey Arena.

In a career that has included countless buzzer-beaters and high-drama moments, the Rattlers' 69-33 victory over Texas A&M International was decided considerably quicker, as St. Mary's stormed to its 13th triumph of the season.

All 10 Rattlers scored in the game, including four in double figures, as St. Mary's (13-3, 5-1 in Heartland Conference) led from start to finish.

LaBraile Fields and Arysia Porter led the way with 11 points apiece, while Kiara Etheridge logged 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kealani Marquez scored 10 points as well, while Porter chipped in nine rebounds and three steals.

For Martens, his career record, which spans 11 seasons leading the Rattlers, improved to 200-104. He ranks as the program's all-time wins leader and has won 65.8 percent of his games at StMU.

The Rattlers will honor Martens in a ceremony prior to the team's game against Newman on Saturday, Jan. 21. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.

On the court against TAMIU, the Dustdevils (1-15, 1-5) entered the game with only five active players.

TAMIU did a valiant job hanging tough in the first half, forcing a 13-13 deadlock at the end of the first quarter. But the Rattlers began pulling away from the undermanned Dustdevils in the second quarter to take a 31-19 lead into the break.

By the third quarter, the Rattlers were on cruise control.

St. Mary's opened a 33-point lead, 57-24, on Briana Bustamante's 3-pointer in the final seconds of the period. The long-distance shot marked the Rattlers' fifth 3-pointer of the period, as the Rattlers went on a 26-5 tear in the period.

The Rattlers will be back in action Thursday, when they host Oklahoma Panhandle State at 5:30 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.
