Ferguson's 33 points lead @StMUmbb past Eagles

OKLAHOMA CITY — A career-high 33 points from Will Ferguson spurred the St. Mary's Rattlers past Oklahoma Christian 66-63 Saturday at the Eagles' Nest. 

Ferguson, who went 6 of 8 from 3-point range, added five rebounds and three assists in the game to help St. Mary's (5-10 overall) pull even to 3-3 in Heartland Conference play. 

Yanni Wetzell also scored in double figures, recording his fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and 10 boards. 

St. Mary's shot just 41.8 percent in the game, but played stifling defense that held the Eagles (6-7, 1-4) to 39.2-percent shooting. They limited prolific scorer John Moon to 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting. 

The Rattlers outrebounded the Eagles 37-33 and committed just nine turnovers in the game.

St. Mary's, tied for fifth in the Heartland, returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 14 when it hosts Texas A&M International at 3 p.m. at Bill Greehey Arena.
