@StMUWBB cruises to third straight win

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's defeated Oklahoma Panhandle State 88-50 Thursday night at Bill Greehey Arena, improving to 14-3 overall and 6-1 in Heartland Conference play.
 
In what was a total team effort, every Rattler that saw the floor registered a made field goal.
 
The Rattlers were sparked by 14 first half points from LaBraile Fields who would go on to finish with 16 points, three assists and two steals. Fellow senior Kiara Etheridge posted 13 points, seven boards and three assists.
 
Off the bench, Ciaira Briseno poured in 15 points on 3-of-4 shooting from behind the arc. Kealani Marquez and Briana Bustamante joined the barrage from three-point land, combining for four made threes.
 
As a team, the Rattlers shot 52 percent from the field, in contrast to the Aggies 34 percent. The victory propels the Rattlers to their third straight victory, their sixth in seven games.
 
Saturday, the Rattlers will host Newman in the final of a three-game homestand.
