Dawson’s golden goal keeps Rattlers undefeated

OKLAHOMA CITY — It took over 106 minutes for St. Mary's to pick up the 1-0 victory over Oklahoma Christian, Saturday afternoon at Eagle Soccer Field.
 
With less than four minutes left in the second OT period, the Rattlers struck gold courtesy of Heather Dawson who deposited the ball into the back of the net off an assist from Rachel Gurinsky.
 
Dawson's goal was her third of the season as the Rattlers improve to 5-0-2 overall and 3-0-2 in conference play.
 
Goalkeepers Caitlin McCarrell and Erin Longford combined for the shutout as the duo tallied six saves.
 
Dawson, Lisa Tomenendal, Roxy Cruz Santory and Alexia Maldonado tallied three shots each with Maldonado placing a team-high two shots on goal.
 
On Sept. 29, the Rattlers will return home for the "Battle of the Saints" against St. Edward's at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
