SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Volleyball held off a resilient Texas A&M International squad on Saturday to win a five-set nail-biter, 3-2, at Bill Greehey Arena.

St. Mary's won Set 1, 25-16, but the teams exchanged sets the rest of the way to set up a 2-2 tie entering the decisive fifth set. There, the Rattlers returned to form, winning 15-8. St. Mary's prevailed overall 25-16, 21-25, 25-22, 21-25, 15-8.

Shelley Chapron and Megan Isbell led the offensive charge with 15 kills apiece, while Tarine Grace added 11 and Channing Hankins chipped in 10. St. Mary's (8-6, 2-1 Heartland Conference) outhit its opposition .257-.200.

Bree Perry once again was stellar distributing the ball to her hitters, totaling 58 assists to go along with 14 digs. Maddi King led the team with 19 digs to go along with nine kills.

Texas A&M International dropped to 0-12 and 0-3 in Heartland play with the loss.

St. Mary's will return to action Thursday, when it hits the road to take on Lubbock Christian in Lubbock, Texas.
