SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's hosted regional foe, Texas A&M-Kingsville Tuesday night at Bill Greehey Arena. The Rattlers defeated the Javelinas 25-19, 25-23, 18-25 and 25-21 to improve their record to 7-6, handing the Javelinas only their second loss of the year.

The Rattlers were led by the outside hitting of Channing Hankins, Maddi King and Tarine Grace. Hankins dropped a match-high 17 kills, while King added 15 and Grace with 14 respectively.

Setting the table was freshman setter Bree Perry who accounted for 50 of the Rattlers 53 assists in the match. Libero Amanda Lake contributed 17 digs, leading all players.

In each set, the Rattlers seemed to find the most opportune time to capitalize on a scoring run. Set 1 saw the Rattlers score seven unanswered before scoring six straight in set 2. St. Mary's closed out the match in set 4, scoring the four of the final six points to avenge its Sept. 6 loss to the Javelinas.

Saturday, the Rattlers will resume Heartland Conference play when the host Texas A&M International at 12 p.m.
