Rattlers drop pair on Opening Day

SAN ANGELO, Texas — St. Mary's Volleyball opened the 2016 season on the road against Tarleton State in the first match of the Angelo State Tournament Friday afternoon.
 
The new-look Rattlers dropped the match in straight sets to the Texanns, 25-13, 25-19 and 25-15.

St. Mary's followed with a straight-set loss to host Angelo State, falling 3-0 in the nightcap.
 
Leading the attack for the Rattlers against Tarleton State were Allison Rose, Shelley Chapron and Tarine Grace whom combined for 17 kills in the loss.
 
In her first collegiate match, Bree Perry led the Snakes with eight assists to go along with eight digs.
 
Freshman Amanda Lake contributed eight digs of her own in the contest.

Against Angelo State, Perry again led the way with 11 assists, while Amanda Lake's 13 digs led the way in that department. Grace had a team-leading eight kills in the match to go along with a .192 attack percentage, while also logging four block assists to lead the team. Megan Isbell hit .250 to lead the squad.
