SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Women's Soccer remains perfect on the season following Thursday's 3-0 victory over Heartland Conference rival Rogers State.

Heather Dawson scored one goal and assisted another at Sigma Beta Chi Field, while freshman Alexia Maldonado also found the back of the net as the Rattlers improved to 4-0 on the season and 2-0 in league play.

Dawson struck first when Tori Andrade's assist allowed her to round the keeper and finish to take a 1-0 lead in the 27th minute. Up 1-0 at halftime, the Rattlers pounced again when Maldonado turned and shot a curler from outside the box in the 58th minute. The goal was assisted by Katy Primeaux.

St. Mary's made it 3-0 off an own goal from Rogers State off a cross from Dawson.

The Rattlers outshot the Hillcats 26-9 in the game and took five corners to Rogers State's one.

Rachel Gurinsky, the reigning Heartland Conference Offensive Player of the Week, led the Rattlers with three shots, one of which was on goal.

The Rattlers will be back in action Saturday, when they host Newman at 1 p.m. at Sigma Beta Chi Field.
