Rattlers win back-to-back on Day 2 of Bellarmine Tournament

Perry and Chapron named to All-Tournament Team

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — St. Mary's cruised past the Alderson Broaddus Battlers and the Ohio Valley Fighting Scots to finish the Bellarmine Tournament with a 3-1 record.
 
Behind strong performances from Channing Hankins, Megan Isbell, Bree Perry and Maddi King, the Rattlers picked up their third victory of the year, 25-16, 25-15 and 25-22, against the Battlers in the first match of the day.
 
To go along with her match-high 13 kills, Hankins tallied four service aces while King posted 13 digs. Once again StMU had strong performances from Isbell, who collected four blocks, and Perry, who dished out 25 assists.
 
In the nightcap, the Rattlers defeated Ohio Valley 25-23, 25-21 and 25-16 as Hankins and Perry led the way once again. Hankins led the Rattlers with 11 kills while Perry tallied 38 assists.
 
Sophomore Ariana Flores tallied a team-high 14 digs as Shelley Chapron and Tarine Grace collected four blocks each.

Both Chapron and Perry were named to the All-Tournament Team.
 
The Rattlers will head to Brownwood, Texas to face Howard Payne on Sept. 13 before returning home to begin conference play against St. Edward's on Sept. 15.
