Women's Tennis to face #38 Indiana (Pa.) in opening round of nationals

By Chad Peters | St. Mary's Athletics Communications

SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's Women's Tennis is set to make its third straight appearance at the NCAA Division II Championships.

The 12th-ranked Rattlers (20-3) will take on No. 38 Indiana (Pa.) (22-4) at 9 a.m. (CT) Wednesday at the Gates Tennis Center in Denver. St. Mary's, one of only 16 teams to advance to the national tournament, is looking to move on to the Final Eight for the second straight season, after having achieved the feat for the first time in the program's history last season.

The Rattlers enter the national stage on an 11-match winning streak, including four straight shutout victories. They defeated No. 42 St. Edward's 5-0 on May 8 in the South Central Regional to qualify for the national tournament.
