Women's Tennis picks up pair of key victories

ARLINGTON, Texas — St. Mary's Women's Tennis traveled to Dallas to take on conference rivals Dallas Baptist and regional foe, Midwestern State, over the weekend. With their record then standing at 9-3, the women notched two victories, moving their record to 11-3 on the year.

Starting with DBU, the Lady Rattlers were able to get off to a fast start with two wins in doubles by the teams of Jamie Lee Denton and Kaylin Kruseman, and Mariela Sarinana and Ally Maciel.

The dominance continued for the Snakes as they went on to record five of six singles victories.

The women took the overall victory 7-2 and carried the momentum into Saturday as they faced MSU with regional-ranking implications on the line.

Just as they did in their previous match, the Rattlers took two of three doubles victories by way of a pair of 8-3 wins by Denton and Kruseman, and Cristina Lopez and Hannah Petersen.

It would be the usual suspects rounding out the overall win with Lopez winning at No. 2, Kruseman coming out victorious at No. 3, and Maciel notching a win at No. 5.

Now sitting at 11-3, St. Mary's will head to Dallas for a conference match against Newman at 2 p.m. Friday, April 8.
