#9 Hawaii Pacific hands #11 Women's Tennis 8-1 loss

DENVER — The St. Mary's Women's Tennis team came up short against No. 9-ranked Hawaii-Pacific, 8-1, on Sunday.

The loss marked the first consecutive losses for the Snakes as they lost only their third overall match of the season. Their record now stands at 9-3.

In the loss, Mariela Sarinana was able to notch an impressive singles win as she defeated Savet 6-4, 2-6 and 10-3 in the tiebreaker. It was the junior's first singles victory of the weekend.

The women will return to action when they face regional rival Midwestern State on April 1.
