CLAREMORE, Okla. — Two games and 31 runs later resulted in the No. 9 St. Mary's Rattlers pushing their win-streak to 12 games following a pair of victories over Rogers State Saturday afternoon at the Diamond Sports Complex.

In the opening contest, the Rattlers routed the Hillcats 21-8 in six innings. The 21 runs and 18-RBI put together by St. Mary's are second most in a single game in program history.

Home runs from Hannah Michel, Sydney Wellmann, Marcela Vasquez and Olivia Van Hook highlighted the Snakes record performance. The four homers in a game is tied for third most in school history, the most since 2013.

St. Mary's wasted little time putting runs on the board as it put up six runs in the top of the first. Rogers State hung tough, responding to every Rattler rally, drawing to within four runs in the fifth inning. That was until the Snakes blasted nine more runs in the top of the sixth beginning with a grand slam from Michel. A three-run homer from Vasquez followed by a solo-blast from Van Hook pushed the Rattlers to the 20-run plateau.

The sixth inning outburst marked the third time this season the Rattlers posted nine or more runs in an inning.

Michel finished the game with four-RBI and four runs scored after going 4-for-5 at the plate. Vasquez added four-RBI of her own following a 2-for-4 performance at the plate.

Wellmann finished the game 2-for-2 at the plate with a pair of RBI, three walks and three runs scored while Raynelle Nash contributed by going 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs scored.

Picking up the win was Ashley Mills who improved to 6-0 on the season after tossing 2.1 innings.

The nightcap saw much different ball game with the teams tied 2-2 heading into the fifth. A two-RBI single from Alena Moreno broke the deadlock before the duo from Brenham, Texas, Wellmann and Van Hook, homered to cap off a six-run inning enroute to a 10-2 victory in six innings.

Jorden Russell picked up her sixth win of the season, improving her record to 6-3 as she struck out six, allowing only two runs in a complete game effort.

Moreno would finish the game with two-RBI and two runs scored after going 3-for-4 at the plate.

Wellmann's hot-streak continued as she went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and six-RBI. Since the start of the month, she has hit seven home runs and tallied 22-RBI in five games, all of which are on the road.

As a team, the Rattlers have scored 10 or more runs in each of their last three contests, outscoring the opposition 48-18.

This high-powered offense will conclude the three-game series against the Hillcats on Sunday at the Diamond Sports Complex at noon.
