CLAREMORE, Oklahoma — Raynelle Nash hit a three-run shot and Sydney Wellmann had a grand slam — her fourth homer of the series — to bookend No. 9 St. Mary's 11-2 victory over Rogers State on Sunday.

Nash's first-inning smash started things off to give St. Mary's an early 3-0 lead, and Wellmann's seventh-inning shot provided the finishing touches as the Rattlers led 11-0 in the seventh to pave the way for the series sweep and their 13th straight victory overall.

Rogers State answered with two runs in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn't enough in a game that saw two separate lightning delays that totaled nearly two hours and 30 minutes.

Wellmann went 2 for 3 with four RBI to give her 12 RBI for the weekend, while Nash equaled Wellmann's RBI total with four of her own on a 2-for-4 outing. Kristal Salinas gave a strong showing from the bottom of the lineup with a 2-for-3 performance that brought in two runs, while Alena Moreno was equally strong from atop the batting order with a 3-for-3 showing that saw her score three times.

Hope Russell got the victory, improving to 6-1 on the season after striking out two and scattering 11 hits.

St. Mary's was electric all weekend, totaling 42 runs on 44 hits to improve to 9-0 in Heartland Conference play. Wellmann, Nash and Salinas all homered in Sunday's finale, giving the Rattlers 10 home runs for the weekend. She has 12 home runs and 44 RBI on the season.

For Wellmann, her super-human stretch continued, batting .750 against Rogers State. Over the past six games, she is 12 of 19 for 26 RBI with eight home runs and 12 runs scored.

St. Mary's is 21-5 overall entering Wednesday's nonconference game against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The Rattlers and Javelinas will begin play at 4 p.m. at the Softball Stadium inside The Park at St. Mary's.
