Last second shot goes unanswered as Rattlers fall to UAFS

FORT SMITH, Ark. — Once again, the stage was set for last second heroics between the St. Mary's Rattlers and the UA Fort Smith Lions. This time it was the Lions picking up 70-67 victory after Kriston Minor missed a game-tying three-point attempt with one second left Saturday afternoon.
 
With a total of seven lead changes throughout the game between the two teams, neither team was able to gain a clear advantage heading into the final 10 minutes.
 
Leading the way for St. Mary's was Bryce Smith (Sr., Corpus Christi, Texas) who tallied a team high 17 points and six assists.
 
Minor (Sr., Huntsville, Texas) poured in 13 points and grabbed four boards while Yanni Wetzell (Fr., Auckland, New Zealand) contributed seven points and eight rebounds.
 
Off the bench, Isaiah Parros (Jr., Aurora, Colo.) dropped 17 points in 20 minutes of action.
 
The Rattlers return home on Feb. 11 to face St. Edward's with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
