CLAREMORE, Okla. —For the first time in history, the St. Mary's women's basketball were victorious in the Claremore Expo Center, as they defeated Rogers State University, 61-51, on Thursday.

After riding the fast start of the Hillcats, the Rattlers rallied with big performances on the night from Kiara Etheridge. The junior turned in yet another double-double scoring 15 points and grabbing 11 boards in the process. Arysia Porter and Dezirae Elias also chipped-in with 13 and 11 points respectively.

St. Mary's defense held Rogers State's offense to single-digits in the 2nd and 3rd quarters as the Rattlers were able to outscore the Hillcats 28-17 during those periods.

With a big three from Porter down the stretch and free throws from Etheridge, the Rattlers got their 14th victory on the year. The victory improves their conference record to 8-4 as they head into the final six games of the year, in prime position for the Heartland Conference tournament.

They will travel to UA Fort Smith on Saturday to take on the Lions at 1 p.m.
