SAN ANTONIO — St. Mary's capped a three-game set against Oklahoma Panhandle State with a 9-0 win at the Softball Stadium on Saturday.

The Rattlers repertoire was on full display as they scored in a multitude of ways. Early on, their aggressive base running lifted the Rattlers to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd inning.

An inning later, Miranda Medina stepped up to the plate and crushed a 2-run home run down the left field line giving the Rattlers a 5-0 lead.

"Everything I've been working on the past week," Medina said postgame. "It finally came together when I saw that pitch."

Medina would finish the game 3-for-3 at the plate with 3 RBI and 3 runs scored as she finished a triple shy of hitting for the cycle.

In the circle, Kristi Rangel was dealing as she threw a complete game, 1-hit shutout, striking out six Aggies in five innings.

The following inning, the Rattlers added four more runs beginning with a Marcela Vasquez double to center field that scored Raynelle Nash. During the next at-bat Olivia Van Hook singled to right center field scoring Vasquez.

Van Hook went 2-for-3 with two runs scored, a double and an RBI while Vasquez finished 1-for-2 with an RBI-double, a run scored and a walk.

St. Mary's will head on the road for an eight-game road trip beginning against Texas-Permian Basin on Mar. 4.
