Rattlers downed by #1 Chaps in Lubbock

LUBBOCK, Texas — The St. Mary's Rattlers visited No. 1 Lubbock Christian Thursday night at the Rip Griffin Center as the Rattlers fell to the Chaps 77-47.
 
Outscored 22-6 in the first quarter, the Rattlers offense was held in-check, shooting less than 16 percent from the field.
 
A strong outing from Kiara Etheridge was not enough to derail the top team in the country as she finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds in 32 minutes of play. Etheridge's double-double was her 13th of the season.
 
Ciaira Briseno poured in a season-high 15 points off the bench on 5-of-6 shooting from the field, including four from downtown.
 
Strong on boards was Emily Troell who snagged a game-high 12 rebounds while fellow senior Dezirae Elias contributed 10 points and six steals.
 
The Rattlers have one more game left in the season, as they will travel to Oklahoma Panhandle State for the season finale on Saturday.
