Javelinas pull away from @StMUmbb down stretch

KINGSVILLE, Texas — Texas A&M-Kingsville pulled away from St. Mary's Men's Basketball in the second half Tuesday, winning 71-53 in nonconference action. 

The Rattlers by seven at the break, but saw the Javelinas outscore them 42-31 in the second half to pull away. 

Yanni Wetzell scored 15 and grabbed six rebounds for the Rattlers (2-7), but it wasn't enough as the Snakes were outscored in the paint 32-18. 

Will Ferguson added nine points and three assists for St. Mary's, while Ed Seay scored seven off the bench. Ferguson accounted for two of the Rattlers' three 3-pointers in the game. 

St. Mary's will open up Heartland Conference play against Rogers State at 3 p.m. Saturday at Bill Greehey Arena.
