Men’s Hoops comeback falls short against Division I Islanders

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — St. Mary's Men's Basketball visited the Division I Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders Friday night at the American Bank Center in an exhibition contest. A second half run by the Rattlers was not enough as they fell to the Islanders 77-67.


 
After being held to 18 points in the first half, the Rattlers offense poured in 49 points in the second half behind a strong effort from Yanni Wetzell who scored 13 of his team-high 19 points in the final 20 minutes.
 
Ed Seay provided a lift off the bench with 14 points and eight rebounds while Skyler Brooks posted 11 points, four rebounds and two assists. Will Ferguson added 10 points, five assists and four boards of his own.
 
The Rattlers will return to action against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Tuesday before heading home on Dec. 17 to begin conference play.
